For The Medical Professional
Pediatric Comfort Care is an organized philosophy of care for children facing a life-limiting illness or conditions; children who have a life expectancy of months not years. Because many factors involved in a child’s illnesses are unpredictable, it is virtually impossible to predict the prognosis and trajectory of the child’s illness.
Hands of Hope benefits children who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness or condition and their families. Specifially the patient has been given a prognosis of 6 months or less, should the disease follow its natural course. The services Hands of Hope provides benefit children with life-limiting diagnoses of all kinds. We understand that it is difficult and often stressful deciding when to consider comfort care as an option. Trusting Hands of Hope as a partner is the first step. We can provide help evaluating a patients disease trajectory and the difficult conversations that can present themselves along the way. Allow us to come aboard and support you in your management of a patient’s life-limiting illness.
